Southern Forests DIY Wedding

Earlier in March this year I was contacted by bride-to-be Kaitlyn. She mentioned she had seen our ‘Win Your Wedding Day Transport’ Facebook competition run in collaboration with Southern Forests Weddings and wanted to book our Mustang for her wedding. The story has a little twist however….. You see Kaitlyn wasn’t booking Sally our 1965 Mustang coupe for herself. Due to unforeseen circumstances Daniel’s father wasn’t able to come to Western Australia for their wedding in Meerup, so Kaitlyn she wanted to book Sally as a surprise for her fiancé Daniel & his best-man Jason.

Initially the booking was a simple transfer, Pemberton to the Ireland family property in Meerup. In this economic climate budgets are tight and so we offer wedding transfers. But I’m a sucker for love stories so I spoke with Mr Mustang Hire and we decided to gift Kaitlyn and Daniel additional time with our 1965 Mustang coupe so they could have photos to remember their big day.

We arrived early in Pemberton and when we knocked on the door to tell Daniel his ride had arrived, the look on his face was priceless. The groomsmen looked sharp in their vintage blue tuxedoes and matching accessories purchased from Connor  Connor prides themselves on offering great style, amazing value and excellent service to the everyday guy. Styled just for the groom squad, all outfits were easily paired with another for an instant on-trend look. A few memorable snaps with his groom-squad & Mustang Sally before the twenty minute drive meandering through the beautiful Southern Forests.

Google Maps and Siri nearly took us down a back unsealed road to nowhere before we made a few rights turns and made it to the private lush green forest property. The ceremony stage was set with a simple but stylish arbour created using lace and soft glass baubles. Whilst the deck area was styled in a vintage-boho theme with festoon lighting, and hay bales with croqueted lace for rustic chic seating.

Whilst Mr Mustang Hire supplied the wedding car transporting groom Daniel and his best-man Jason. The People Parcel Movers Pemberton & Southern Forests provided additional bus transport for the 70+ guests.

Marriage Celebrant Catrina Main delivered words for bride & groom and their guests that told the unique story of who they both are, how their relationship evolved and what exciting things lay ahead for them in the future.

After the ceremony, the exchanging of vows and wedding rings it was time for photos. Kaitlyn, Daniel, the bridesmaids, groomsmen and immediate family all had photos with our 1965 Mustang coupe Sally. The electric & navy blue colour theme was a match made in Mustang wedding heaven.

Kaitlyn looked stunning in her vintage wedding dress from English Rose Bridal Whilst Kaitlyn’s bridesmaids wore navy blue gowns. The ladies at English Rose know how special your wedding day is so they ensure the process of choosing the dress for your big day is an easy one.

Kaitlyn and her bridesmaid’s hair and makeup package was provided by Manjimup based stylist Kym from Allure Hair Design & Makeup Artistry The bridesmaid’s wore braided up-dos as did Kaitlyn with the additional of a stunning vintage themed lace veil. Kym ensured the day was a relaxing experience as she was happy to travel to Meerup for the big day so Kaitlyn and her bride-squad could be pampered in their home.

At the end of the afternoon we wished both bride & groom the best for a long and happy marriage. It was a real privilege to be involved in such an important day in a couple’s life. Before we departed Kaitlyn told us her parents let them have the wedding on their property and they went above and beyond for everything. She said ‘we really couldn’t have done it without them, this really was mostly a DIY wedding and we couldn’t have done it without everyone’s help and support’. This was certainly a love story with a very, very happy ending. Congratulations once again from Mr Mustang Hire.
